NGC 7479 - Barred Spiral
Galaxy
NGC 7479, is a
beautiful example of a barred-spiral galaxy. Some call it the
"S" galaxy. it has very pronounced bar in its arms, but the arms
are assymetrical, perhaps due to a relatively recent collision
and merger with another galaxy. It is about 105 million light
years away in the constellation Pegasus. Stats for NGC 7479 are
